This first listen was an exercise of emotion in motion, a double dose of heart, desire and courageous songwriting delivered by two of Norfolk’s brightest talents, Lydia Cass and Liv.

Lydia Cass – ‘Be all mine’

Lydia Cass is a Norwich-based singer-songwriter who has been growing a steady reputation for tender, emotional music that crosses over into the ethereal, as can be heard on a string of strong singles from 2024’s gorgeous ‘Benched’ to February’s ‘Halcyon’.

Now returning with ‘Be all mine’ there is all the familiar blissful feeling, but as evidenced by the song’s electronic flirtation, Lydia Cass is maturing leaps and bounds as a musician. The track itself was inspired by a leap-of-faith decision that saw her leaving university behind to become a full time musician. 

Lydia Cass is surely going to flourish in a local music scene always putting the most authentic and genuine artists into the spotlight. 

Liv – ‘Sediment’

Shaping the sound of the universe from the serene comfort of her bedroom floor, Liv‘s debut single ‘Sediment’ floats along with a punching melancholic yet heartfelt weight.

The production is deceptively simple on the surface, but dig deep enough and ‘Sediment’ is a fantastic example of textural alternative pop, full of lived experience whether that is treating life as a learning lesson or indeed heartbreak.

With ‘Sediment’ set for release at the start of September, Liv is a bold new voice on the scene and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
